Agam, West Sumatra – The Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (Itjen Kemhan) conducted an Inspection and Audit (Wasrik) of the Yonif TP 897/Singgalang Development Project in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The activity was carried out to ensure that the development project is implemented in accordance with applicable requirements, the established completion schedule, and prescribed quality standards.
The Inspection and Audit was led by Brigadier General TNI Heru Purwanto as Team Leader, accompanied by Colonel Inf. Slamet Riyanto from the Ministry of Defense’s Construction Center (Pusat Konstruksi), Colonel Inf. Adi Sutrisno as Team Secretary, and Colonel Kum. Viktor Siagian and Lieutenant Colonel Cba. Syafriadi as team members. The activity was also attended by Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Saor Jonathan Lumbanbatu, Commander of Yonif TP 897/Singgalang; Major Inf. Rudi Saragih, Chief of Staff of Kodim 0304/Agam; as well as three supporting personnel from Zidam and Kodam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol.
The activity began with a presentation on the implementation and progress of the Yonif TP 897/Singgalang Development Project, delivered by BIRU Deputy President Director, Ade Prasetyo. The presentation outlined the current status of the project, including progress achieved and challenges encountered throughout the construction process.
The inspection General team subsequently held discussions on the challenges affecting the project implementation and the Recovery Plan prepared as an acceleration measure to ensure that the remaining works can be completed in accordance with the established schedule.
In his direction, the inspection General Team Leader emphasized the importance of all parties maintaining their commitment to completing the works on time in accordance with the revised schedule stipulated in the time addendum, while continuing to uphold the required quality and workmanship standards. Timely completion, he stressed, must go hand in hand with compliance with applicable technical requirements and construction quality standards.
Following the presentation and discussion, the inspection General team conducted a direct site inspection to assess the actual conditions and progress of the development. The inspection covered several key facilities, including the Battalion Headquarters Building (Mayon), Barracks, Company Buildings, Battalion Kitchen, Firing Range, and the livestock area of Yonif TP 897/Singgalang.
Through the site inspection, the team was able to directly assess the progress of the works and verify the alignment between actual site conditions, the project presentation, and the proposed completion plan.
Overall, the Inspection and Audit was conducted smoothly. The Itjen Kemhan team expressed its appreciation for the implementation and progress of the Yonif TP 897/Singgalang Development Project and raised no negative assessment regarding the execution of the works. This positive feedback serves as further encouragement for all parties involved to maintain construction quality, strengthen coordination, and ensure that the project is completed on schedule in accordance with the established commitments.
