
Sigi, 23 April 2026 – The construction of facilities and infrastructure for the Territorial Development Infantry Battalion (YONIF TP) 873/Mareso Masagena has officially commenced, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony held in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday (April 23). The event marks an important milestone in the development of the unit’s facilities and infrastructure, aimed at supporting operational readiness and strengthening the regional defense system in a sustainable manner.
The event was attended by Pangdam XXIII/Palaka Wira, Major General TNI Jonathan Binsar Parluhutan Sianipar, along with officials from Kodam XXIII/Palaka Wira; Sigi Regent Mohamad Rizal Intjenae, S.Sos., M.Si.; the Deputy Commander of YONIF TP 873/Mareso Masagena and his staff; as well as BIRU Director Ade Prasetyo, serving as the project executor.
The groundbreaking ceremony was marked by the laying of the first stone, symbolizing the start of construction work on site. This moment not only signifies the beginning of physical development but also reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the unit’s capacity through the provision of adequate, integrated, and sustainable infrastructure.
As part of the event, BIRU conveyed its commitment to carrying out the project
professionally by prioritizing construction quality standards and timely
execution. This forms part of efforts to ensure that the development proceeds
effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with the established plan.
The development of facilities for YONIF TP 873/Mareso Masagena plays an important role in supporting the unit’s readiness to carry out both territorial and operational duties. Adequate infrastructure is expected to enhance the effectiveness of task execution while strengthening the unit’s presence and role in the region.
As part of the program, the BIRU team also delivered a technical presentation along with an overview of the project’s site plan. The presentation covered the development concept, the zoning of facilities, and the stages of implementation, providing all stakeholders with a comprehensive picture of the project’s direction and future targets.
Following the ceremonial proceedings, the event continued with a visit to the project site office to directly review the project’s readiness on the ground. This visit was carried out to ensure both technical and administrative preparedness before full-scale construction begins.
Through this development, it is hoped
that the facilities and infrastructure of YONIF TP 873/Mareso Masagena can be
completed in accordance with the established targets. The presence of
representative facilities is expected to support improved unit performance
while also making a tangible contribution to strengthening Indonesia’s regional
defense system.
